Welcome to The Monthly Mix, your guide to everything Mixels! Out every month.
Issue #5 - August 20, 2014
Yes, yes. I know I said that CubitsZone would be the next big place for Mixels news. However, that sort of failed. It turned out that this is the better way to share information. Are you ready for the big return? Here we go...
Series 3 sets are starting to hit stores worldwide. Applause to LEGO for the early release! The Maxes and designs this time around are seriously the best that have been done. What new tribe is your favorite? I'm tied between the Glorp Corp and Wiztastics! Finally, San Diego Comic-Con International 2014 came and went from July 24 to the 27th. We got our first sneak preview of Series 4 at the LEGO booth, similar to the franchise's unveiling last year. Who is the coolest: Nurp-Naut, Globert, or Burnard? Tell me!
The first anniversary of this wiki was on July 22. Which means that Mixels has officially existed for a year! *Volectro voice* Don't you believe it? I've got something special set up to celebrate that I will discuss in an upcoming blog post (separate from this one). A parent page and video channel for the wiki has also been set up. I've made quite a few new templates for organization purposes to help us in editig. Infoboxes have been made much cleaner and fancier.
We also need tons more images, so if you have any episode screenshots or the like, feel free to upload. Remember, pictures of leaked confidential Mixels sets are not allowed. Also, please keep the wiki clean by not ruining articles and undoing any vandalism you see. Thank you for your attention.
Set Reviews: Flexers and Fang Gang
Series 2 momentum has definitely slowed down... but I'll be honest: I finally ordered the Flexers from Amazon in early August and bought the Fang Gang from Walmart this past Monday. There's probably no need to explain them again, so I'll just rate them now. I give Kraw a 2.5 out of 5 cubits, Balk 3/5 cubits, and Tentro 5/5 cubits. I also give Chomly a 1 out of 5 cubits, Jawg 4/5 cubits, and Gobba 5/5 cubits.
First thing is first: In my discussion last issue, I ended up being right about Mixels going to half-hour long episodes. It's only a special, but if we could get one or two of these a year, that would be epic! Don't you think? CN and LEGO must be really listening to the fans. What do you hope to see in Mixed Up? Whether it be some Nixel conflict or character development, leave a comment and let me know. Anyway... in this section, I talk about the Mixels shorts that air on Cartoon Network. There are now twenty shorts in the series broadcasted. My favorite out of the four that have released since last issue has to be High Five. Finally, Chomly joined the fun! And, he scares me. That is all that needs to be said about that.
I've got no good ideas for a discussion this time around. If anyone has any, feel free to suggest and I will update.
Unfortunately, we are done for now. Continue to make the wiki a better place! Also, if you would like to write a guest article, send one to me at email@example.com. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think, and what I need to to improve on, as I love to hear from you. Next issue, we have a review of ALL OF SERIES 3 (WOOT!), and more Mixel goodness than the whole population of Nixels! Don't miss it.
