Mixed Up Special, aired on August 31, 2014, is the 21st "episode" of Mixels. As the title implies, it is a half-hour special compilation of previously-aired short-form episodes from season one, and also includes two new "minisodes"; Epic Comedy Adventure and Murp Romp (the latter of which is the season finale).

Get ready for more Mixel mayhem in a half-hour Mixels special event! Check out the pointy, prickly Spikels, the outrageously gross Glorp Corp and the magical, wondrous Wiztastics as they meet the other Mixels and go on crazy new adventures.

Production Information

• When the Mixels franchise was first announced, it was stated that the length of the series could be extended for longer storylines, if and when needed; this being an example.
• The full name of the episode is Mixels: Mixed Up Special.
• The voice cast for Season 1 was finally revealed in the end credits.
• A short clip was released prior to the episode's airing, in anticipation of its release. A trailer was also released on TV and on Cartoon Network's blog.
• This episode reintroduced the tribe-by-tribe intro used on Mixels.com.

• This is the first episode to air and premiere at a specific time (6:00-6:30 PM Eastern/Pacific, 5:00-5:30 PM Central) instead of during a commercial break and/or in between shows.
• This episode first aired as part of the "Labor Day Weekend Clarence and Friends Sleepover" event.
• This episode's airing revealed the Check It 3.0 (the branding used at the time by Cartoon Network) up next bumper for Mixels. Unlike most shows on the network, the spinning cube in the bumper simply contained a still image of Flain rather than an animation.
• Due to the lack of a special dedicated to Series 5, this special and Mixel Moon Madness re-aired in Japan in June 13th and 25th, 2015.

Trivia

• The bumper in-between "Nixel Mix-Over" and "Murp Romp" includes a bunch of the Mixels logo falling on top of each other. This bumper originated from the beginning of some of the stop-motion videos from LEGO.
• On September 3, 2014, both Epic Comedy Adventure and Murp Romp became available to watch from the website. They are unavailable on Cartoon Network's website, but were retained on YouTube by them (until 2019) and LEGO.
• Strangely, in the Brazilian Portuguese version, most of the voices in the intro are dubbed, while the Series 3 tribes aren't.

Broadcast

This episode aired on August 31, 2014 directly following the Cartoon Network premiere of Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker. It is unknown how many viewers this episode garnered.

Continuity

• This is the second time there is a full intro. ("Coconapple")

Errors

• The closed captions list Vulk as Volectro towards the end of Hot Lava Shower's segment in this special.
• During the end credits, Flurr's name is misspelled as "Flur", and Kraw and Scorpi are absent.
