Mix Your Neighbor (previously titled Mix Your Neighbour) is a game on the LEGO Mixels website. The point of the game is to arrange three Mixels from the same tribe in rows of three or more.
The game is no longer listed on LEGO.com, but can be accessed here.
Gameplay
Mix Your Neighbor is a typical "Match 3" game.
Each series has nine levels. There are three different goals for three levels each: reach the target score within available moves (marked by a trophy), match two designated Mixels to create Mixes (marked by a Mix token), and reach the target score within the available time (marked by time pie chart). Each token is worth fifty points, while each Mix combination is worth 750. The player can earn up to three stars from each level. In the Series 8 update, there was a new goal added for Splasho, Skulzy and Tuth, which was to drop down a certain number of Nixels.
The player must match three or more Mixels from the same tribe. If two Mixels are shown in the Mix column, matching them will earn the player bonus points. If they match three or more separate Mixels from the same tribe, the MAX tile will appear. Matching them with the same colored Mixels will remove the column and row where the Max tile was located. The level is complete if the player successfully reaches the target and has earned at least one star.
Throughout the game, Nixels appear on the board and block any moves near their tile, but can be removed by dropping them down the grid.
Clicking anywhere outside of the game window pauses the game, until the player clicks back onto the game.
Trivia
- This game is the sequel to Mixels Mania and Who's In The Mix.
- If you idly stay on the main menu, a cricket sound effect will be played.
- Every Series 6, 7, 8, and 9 Mixel except for the Weldos have appeared in this game. However, unused assets for the Weldos are able to be found in the game's files.[1] This makes it the first online game where Mixels from the year before the year the game came out in make an appearance.
- A notice about the game appeared on the website with its release, temporarily replacing the Breaking News.
- The spelling of "neighbour" in the title was originally the British English spelling, rather than the American English spelling of "neighbor". This was eventually changed in Series 9, including on the UK-based site.
- The Nixels uses archived audio of Fred Tatasciore's recording, rather than their new voice actor from Mixel Moon Madness onward.
